TALC

Europe’s largest deposit of the highest quality talc

MINERAL DEPOSIT AND PRODUCTION:

The Slovakian talc deposit located in Gemerská Poloma was discovered in the 1980s. A decade ago, the necessary investment for its exploitation was undertaken, creating the company Eurotalc, currently integrated in Eurofillers, a minerals division in which Calcinor has a 50% shareholding.

ABOUT:

The mineral talc (steatite, magnesium silicate hydrate, in powdered form talc) is a very common layered silicate with the chemical composition:

Mg3 [Si4O10 (OH) 2].

It is the softest mineral in the world but has a high melting point (1,200-1,500ºC) and a high density (2,700 – 2,900 kg/m³).

Calcinor, supplies highly laminar talc with a high degree of whiteness and high purity from Eurotalc which is marketed under the INTALC brand

Properties

  • High purity
  • High whiteness
  • Chemically inert
  • Low oil absorption
  • Matting effect (gloss level control)

APLICACIONES

Among its many applications, INTALC stands out for its use in the plastics sector:

  • It modifies the abrasion and deterioration resistance of plastics.
  • It improves opacity and adhesion.
  • It improves and regulates mechanical properties.

INTALC is also used in the following sectors:
