Projects on the Sustainability-Recovery of slag from the incineration of waste urban cement and mortar.
At Calcinor, committed to sustainability, and through the R&D projects performed by our companies, we recover the waste generated in other activities for their reuse.
Among these, today one of the most outstanding projects is the one carried out by KOBEKA HARROBIAK S.L., a company in which Calcinor (formerly Cantera de Campanzar S.A.) is a shareholder and which, situated in Arrasate-Mondragón, specialises in the production of aggregates for construction.
This is a strategic project (Project no. ZL-2022/00831- RSU4HOM), co-financed by the Basque Government and the European Union through the European regional development fund 2021-2027 (FEDER), by means of the programme of grants to support business R&D – HAZITEK.
The aim of this project is to reuse solid urban waste as raw material and in so doing to reduce the consumption of natural resources and improve the recycling ratio of RCD management companies and, therefore, to reduce the tons of waste that are taken to the rubbish tip.
The project, which began in July 2022, will run for 3 years and is led by FCC Medio Ambiente S.A., with the collaboration as participants of 3 Basque companies, manufacturers of concrete, mortar and precast concrete, as is the case of KOBEKA HARROBIAK S.L.
By means of developing new construction materials based on the reuse of slag from the incineration of solid urban waste, Calcinor seeks, with KOBEKA HARROBIAK S.L., to contribute its knowhow and corporate commitment to protecting the environment and Environmental Sustainability.
